Week two term two
This week we have completed our climate change assessments and also started our Micro-organisms topic. By now you should be able to:
- draw and label the features of bacteria, fungi and viruses
- describe the reproduction of bacteria, fungi and viruses
- Inoculate agar plates and culture bacteria and fungi

Mitosis and Meiosis compared. This is a clip that I show my year 13 Biology students. It gets a bit scientific but the name of this course is Science not English!

Today we were finishing up the genetics section with a look at reproductive technologies and GM products. From some of the questions that arose I think we will need to revise Meiosis before the topic test on Wednesday. I've added a couple of links on this to the list of documents.
Next term the three year eleven classes will swap classrooms and teachers and begin the next area of year 11 Science, Physics or Chemistry.

Week 8
The homework assignment on DNA, Chromosomes and Genes was due in last Thursday.
The current homework is from the homework book, activity 1 and 2 from the genetics section.
